Racing a Caterham 7 Superlight

Just in case you missed my first Palmersport video where I trashed a BMW M3 GTP around the Bedford Autodrome in England, here's another. This time I'm on a different track, still on the ex-WWII airfield, but in something that made the M3 feel like a Range Rover in terms of weight and size. The Caterham R300 Superlight is pretty much the lightest car on 4 wheels that you can buy today, and likely also one of the most tail happy. With 160bhp directed to the rear wheels, I was constantly flicking the Plymouth Prowler-like front wheels left and right to hopelessly counter the oversteer. I'm a bit ashamed to say that I grew quite nausious at around lap 5, sick during lap 10, and turned full Shrek-green when I finished and pulled back in to the paddocks. Somewhere in between praying to God to keep the meat stuffed Shepherd's Pie down and trying to manage a respectable lap time, I truly enjoyed the simplicity and controllability of the quirky little Caterham. I wouldn't mind one in my garage, especially the R500 which looks like a 7, but can beat a Veyron around the Top Gear track. There's more Palmersport film in the pipelines, but that'll have to hold, since I'll soon be posting last weekend's Nurburgring 24 hours footage.
